holy crap, I think I’m going to cry a little

It’s done.

After a year and a half of hard work, I have finished Epilogues Part III: The Nightshades.

I can’t believe it.  I mean, I really can’t believe it’s over.

For ninety percent of the chapter, writing it was just like writing anything other chapter I have written, but as I got down to the final paragraphs…  dammit, my eyes started to sting a little.  After everything, I didn’t want it to end.

And maybe, when you read the epilogue, you might detect just a little dragging of the feet as you read.

Wow…  I am having a hard time believing how emotional this moment is right now.

It’s over.  It’s effing over.

Well, I suppose I better start working on those after Nightshades essays now.

You may be done writing it, but it’s not over. Those characters you’ve created will live on. There are others who have yet to discover your story. To them it will be all new. I think that’s one of the most amazing things about writing. Even after the story is finished, it lives on. We can go back and reread it any time and everything comes alive again.

I know I too will be sad reading the end. But you have other things to write. It may be the end of one thing, but the beginning of another, of so much more. Who knows what Poor Town and Providence and anything else you’ll come up with lead to. I for one am excited to find out.

Congratulations! It’s a bittersweet thing though, I know. Have a good weekend with your family.
